We discussed lesson plans for tomorrow. I actually got back to the hotel early this afternoon--around 6:00 to work on some lessons. Of course, NO INTERNET! ARRGGHH! Oh well. While driving back to the hotel, I saw many people in the streets sweeping. The city is very dirty after the winter months. Since the snow has melted, it is everyone's job to come out and CLEAN! They feel if the community cleans, then they will keep it clean. This is a requirement. Tomorrow is our last full day at school.
Today, I taught all my lessons: mass communications, strange hotels, and computer addiction! Very different topics. Barb and I presented a workshop to the teachers in this school and other city schools. We talked about teaching English interactively and teaching vocabulary. It went well. The teachers were very excited to talk with us. They get very little opportunity to talk with a native speaker. We exchanged emails, and I am hoping to hear from them soon, so my students at TCMS will have the opportunity to email with their students. We discussed lesson plans for tomorrow. Also, today students were helping scrub and clean the school! In regards to cleaning the streets/city, it is amazing that I can see a huge difference in just a week.

Classrooms are very neat and clean. All students in uniforms, interesting that the girls wear their hair long, same style in a braid. I don't see any jewelry Mrs. Woodward. I am excited to know that I will be able to email the students. I wonder if they know One Direction? Everyone helps cleaning the city by sweeping the streets as it is dirty from the winter snow. Awesome! I miss you Mrs. Woodward!

It sounds like Kazakhstan is quite different from the U.S. I couldn't imagine going to school and cleaning, and I thought cleaning my own house was bad! the students outfits also look a lot more "proper" and dull than I expected. I hope the rest of your trip is fun! I also hope you have many stories to bring back to class.

It looks and sounds like a lot of fun! I can't believe the kids are dressed up for school. I expected some things about that place, but I would've never guessed chess boards. I was really jealous when I saw the cheesecake. It looked so amazing! Anyway, I hope you have a nice time!

I definitely didn't expect what I read and saw about your journey. It seems so proper, how everyone wears uniforms, and how neat and clean it is. I also love how everything seems so bright and colorful, especially the art. I hope you are having a blast! I am looking forward to any stories you might have when you come back!

I thought it was funny that you would teach a class about computer addiction! I guess that that is a big part of american culture, and they should know about it. I can't wait to here all of the stories you have to tell!
